Title: Redefining Medical Image Reconstruction and Analysis: Generative AI at the Frontier
Abstract:
Advancements in generative AI are revolutionizing medical imaging by enabling transformative leaps in image reconstruction, analysis, and interpretation capabilities of learning-based models. This talk highlights our pioneering work in applying state-of-the-art generative models to mainstream imaging modalities including MRI and CT. On the architectural front, we have developed innovative transformer and state-space models tailored to the unique challenges of medical images that carry intricate contextual relationships between healthy and pathological tissues. From a learning perspective, our research explores the capabilities of denoising diffusion and Schrödinger bridge models to achieve enhanced realism and fidelity in generated image samples. Key applications include accelerated MRI reconstruction for faster and more accessible diagnostics, multi-modal medical image translation for enhanced clinical insights and diagnostic accuracy, and robust medical image classification. By bridging advanced AI methodologies with practical healthcare needs, our work underscores the potential of generative AI to redefine the future of medical imaging.
