Title: Ongoing research in the Neurorobotics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory at NÖROM
Abstract:
Dr. Arikan will discuss the motivation for the Neurorobotics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory (N2R2 Lab). Ongoing research on sensorimotor control and learning, robotic rehabilitation, navigational learning, multisensory integration, neuroplasticity, human-robot haptic interaction for ASD and ADHD, migraine, hemiplegia, addiction, and the elderly adults will be discussed briefly.
Bio:
Dr. Kutluk Bilge Arıkan obtained his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in mechanical engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, in 1997, 2000, and 2008, respectively. He served as a research assistant in the same department from 1997 to 2003. From 2003 until 2017, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Atilim University. From 2017 until 2024, he held the position of assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TED University. He joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering as an assistant professor in April 2024. Since 2020, he has been actively involved with NÖROM as a researcher. He is responsible for the Neurorobotics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory. Dr. Arikan’s primary research area includes computational sensorimotor control and learning and design of biomechatronic systems. He actively engaged in several research projects and provided expertise as an academic consultant for various industrial projects.
