Title: Metal Additive Manufacturing (AM), Robots in AM and Novel Research Trends
Abstract:
This seminar first introduces AM technologies and the AM marketplace. Current AM research activities under the AMTRG (Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Research Group) are summarised by showing academic and industrial research project results. Future trends in AM Technologies and industrial applications are presented.
Bio:
Prof. Oğuzhan Yılmaz received his Ph.D. Degree in 2006 from the School of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering and Operation Management of The University of Nottingham, UK. He involved many Rolls-Royce plc and EPSRC funded research projects as a post graduate researcher and post-doc researcher in Nottingham University RollsRoyce Technology Centre (UTC). He also supervised national funded academic and industrial TUBITAK and privately funded research projects in Turkiye.
He worked for Gaziantep University from 2007 to 2015. He affiliated as Professor in Gazi University in 2017. He is the head of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Research Group (AMTRG). His research interests are additive manufacturing, WAAM, advanced manufacturing processes and repair technologies.
He is currently Editor-in-Chief of The journal of the faculty of engineering and architecture of Gazi University (SCI-E indexed). Associate Editor of The Journal of Machine Design and Production. Prof.Yılmaz is the founder member and current president of Turkish Additive Manufacturing Association (TAMA) and co-chair of AMC Additive Manufacturing Conference.
Prof. Yilmaz is also the CEO of MetalWorm Additive Manufacturing Company, which specializes in system production for Robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing.
